ONESELF.’s second release shows off the dazzling creativity moment that both artists involved in its production are currently enjoying. Johnny Trika and Maksim Dark embody the Barcelona based label’s philosophy: edit and expand the latest quality minimalistic techno productions having no geographical boundaries.
On one side, Johnny Trika joining ONESELF. is especially meaningful, as it expands the scope of the label’s sounds. When it comes to establish the label’s identity, there is no time to waste. Every new track means an opportunity to get closer to it; that’s why tracks like Fast Life and Dreamless are priceless: they directly reach the most energetic level of a club as it gets into its climax.
On the other side, Fast Life remix by Maksim Dark confirms the russian artist as one of the main assets of ONESELF.’s trajectory. His overwhelming creativity seems to be unstoppable. Listening to the weightless surrounding bass of Fast Life remix lets us recognize Maksim Dark’s signature, the one and only that gave ONESELF. first release an unbeatable start.

The canadian artist committed himself to electronic music production in 2010, at the age of 18. Since then till today, Johnny Trika hasn’t been one single day away from the music he loves. During this intense 7 years, he has developed and improved his studio knowledge and his dj show performance techniques: both balanced qualities have connected him with capital artists and record labels, those that rule the vanguardist and most influential techno sounds defined by its superb clubbing atmosphere but free from industrial influences.
In the recent years, one of the best evidences about Johnny Trika’s talent is the support his work has received by names like Dubfire. 4 years ago, both artists met and started to collaborate: SCI-TECH, Dubfire’s label, has edited already 3 EPs by Johnny Trika. In addition, Matt Sassar has also included Johnny Trika to his project Panterre.
2016 was frantic for the canadian artist and 2017 will probably be even more outstanding. His agenda is packed with show dates spread in different continents and over the most renowned clubs and festivals. It’s his deserved reward for being consistent and exacting since the early start and also an exciting opportunity to face the most challenging years of his career. El segundo release de ONESELF., sello barcelonés nacido en 2017 con el objetivo de plasmar la última encarnación del techno minimalista sin limitaciones geográficas, dice mucho del brillante momento creativo de los dos nombres que lo han hecho posible: Johnny Trika y Maksim Dark.
Por un lado, la incorporación del canadiense Johnny Trika a las filas de ONESELF. amplía el horizonte de sonidos que, desde un primer momento, son el buque insignia del proyecto del sello y lo definen, beat a beat, sin tiempo que perder: la intensidad inquietante de los tracks Fast Life y Dreamless ponen contra las cuerdas la tensión que un club puede soportar cuando alcanza su clímax.
Por otro lado, el remix de Fast Life en manos de Maksim Dark confirma al artista ruso como un activo determinante para el avance de ONESELF.. Su creatividad, demoledora, parece no tener límites. Escuchar los graves ingrávidos y envolventes del remix de Fast Life nos hace reconocer su singular firma, la misma que marcó un inmejorable comienzo de ONESELF con el primer release.

Johnny Trika se entregó a su vocación electrónica como productor con apenas 18 años. Desde aquel ya lejano 2010 hasta la fecha, el canadiense ha encauzado su trabajo como productor y dj con un doble rasante, imparable: desde el estudio, sus producciones han logrado sintonizar con los artistas y sellos que marcan las pautas principales del techno que suena más allá del sonido estrictamente industrial: su magnetismo se encuentra entre la oscuridad, el quiebro de las estructuras convencionales y el juego de espejos que provocan sus melodías desteñidas y su dominio de los efectos sintéticos.
Tanto es así que Dubfire, uno de los máximos referentes contemporáneos de este espectro de sonidos, ha apostado por su trabajo desde que ambos creadores entraron en contacto hace cuatro años: el sello SCI-TECH ha editado ya 3 referencias de Johnny Trika y Matt Sassar ha contado con él para su proyecto Panterre.
Con un 2016 frenético y un 2017 no menos explosivo, lleno de fechas repartidas entre varios continentes y reclamado por los mejores clubes y festivales, Johnny Trika encara los mejores años de su carrera: es la recompensa que tiene el esfuerzo por haber logrado su sonido, tanto en el club como en el estudio.
